Dr Nausheen Shaikh
General Practioner
Nausheen is originally from Pakistan where she completed her primary medical qualifications and earned a postgraduate diploma in Diabetes. She has worked as a GP both at home and abroad in primary care, as well as with voluntary organisations providing quality health care to underprivileged communities. She has a special interest in mental health, diabetes and women’s health.
After 10 years in Hong Kong and Saudi Arabia, Nausheen moved to NZ in 2016 and worked at the North Shore Hospital and Waitakere Hospital, before deciding to join the GP programme in New Zealand as a Registrar. As a GP, Nausheen finds the lasting connections she makes with her patients incredibly rewarding and values the diversity they bring to her life.
As a mom to three beautiful young adults, she has a special connection with adolescent health.
Outside the clinic, Nausheen is passionate about social work and loves cooking for friends and family (…her daughter rating her as the Gordon Ramsay of biryanis).
Nausheen is available for appointments on Wednesday and Friday.
